Creative Writing Course “Identity and Language”
If language provides an identity and an understanding of the world, acquiring another language allows a break and a metamorphosis. Writing in Spanish as a foreign language enables writers to create realities where amazement and invention arise from a disinterested and unlimited use of the language. As the Italian-Egyptian poet Fabio Morábito points out about his writing in Spanish: “It is only possible to speak another language by becoming someone else. […] If writing imposes a mask on us, writing in another language imposes a double mask on us, that is, a new face”.
This course provides students with tools to explore writing in a creative way and examine how identity and language mutually transmute each other on the paper. Through the reading of Latin American authors and the exploration of different genres (poetry, short story, prose, chronicle), the course seeks to engage students in the writing practice to motivate creativity of different aesthetic and literary possibilities through the Spanish language.

Curso de Escritura Creativa “Identidad y Lengua”
Si la lengua otorga una identidad y una comprensión del mundo, adquirir otra lengua permite un quiebre y una metamorfosis. Escribir en español como extranjero da la posibilidad de crear realidades donde el asombro y la invención surgen de un uso desinteresado e ilimitado de la lengua. Como señala el poeta italo egipcio Fabio Morábito sobre su escritura en español: “Sólo es posible hablar otro idioma convirtiéndose en otra persona. […] Si escribir nos impone una máscara, escribir en otro idioma nos impone una máscara doble, o sea un nuevo rostro”.
El presente curso busca dar herramientas para explorar la escritura de manera creativa e indagar cómo la identidad y la lengua se transmutan mutuamente en el papel. A través de la lectura de autores latinoamericanos y la exploración de diferentes géneros (poesía, cuento, relato, crónica), el curso propone a los estudiantes adentrarse en la práctica de escritura para motivar la creatividad y las posibilidades estéticas y literarias a través de la lengua española.
